An Easter Tablescape for the Boho Minimalist

April 3, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Creativity can often strike up in the least likely of places and times. For me, I almost always get a spark of creativity the day after styling an event or wedding. With a few sprigs of leftover flowers or distinct decor pieces waiting to be put away until their next reveal at a special occasion,…

I’m Loving…

It’s Friday again. Yet this week has felt more like a day, and with two showers next weekend, there’s lots of little tasks that still need to be done. So, I’m sure the week ahead will feel more like an hour than seven days. Even with a hectic week behind and ahead of me, it is…

I’m Loving…

March 18, 2016 · Leave a Comment

March seems to be fleeting so quickly. This week the trees have begun to bud, some even bloom, while the first of spring’s flowers begin to show their colors. It’s quite magical, at least for me it is. But I am feeling a little burnt from work, and there is no stopping either, there’s lots to be…

Quick + Fun Easter Baskets

Quick + Fun Easter Baskets

Easter was, and is, more of a religious holiday in my family. Our Portuguese tradition is to attend Easter Mass in the morning, and godchildren then visit their godparents, in hopes of receiving a Folar {in the old days, this Folar sweet bread would be given}. These days money, gifts and of course a chocolate egg is…

Easter Inspiration

April 18, 2014 · Leave a Comment

I tend to prefer the morning time, being a breakfast person aficionado, which it makes it a perfect way to spend an Easter Sunday morning. I find it as a time of day where we don’t commonly get together with family and friends, since we’re usually busy rushing out the door. Inspiration from bright and playful decor to refreshing…

Sometimes you want to leisurely spend your day baking, then there are others you just don’t have time to wait for ingredients to come together. These shortbread cookies are one of the simplest and quickest recipes, taking just a few short minutes to blend. Shortbread is a basic, yet classic cookie to serve at any gathering, but…

Golden Egg Hunt Tablescape & A Natural Textured Egg DIY

April 14, 2014 · 4 Comments

Easter egg hunts weren’t really a tradition in my family, but I know they can be quite fun having seen a few in college. So I wanted to recreate my own egg hunt with a playful centerpiece. I hid eggs, big and small throughout, which makes looking at the centerpiece like an egg hunt itself. “The Golden…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
