I‘m proposing the idea of dessert picnics. And what’s one of the best sweet treats to bring on a picnic…cookies! They’re mess free, easy to transport plenty of, and they come in every flavor imaginable. Plus, when days are hot, who wants to be putting down a heavy sugary piece of cake. I’ve made these…

Cinnamon Roll Cookies

Cinnamon Roll Cookies

I first made these cinnamon roll cookies, years ago, and many years ago; I think way back in high school. So when I was about to send the recipe, for a kids’ after school cooking school program I occasionally teach, I hesitated, remembering how these cookies tasted good, but didn’t quite look all that great….

Seven days immersing ourselves in flowers🌿🌼 Conne Seven days immersing ourselves in flowers🌿🌼
Connecting in nature, amongst foraged magic all around a quiet Portuguese village. It could not have been more idyllic.
We learned, we experimented and were encouraged to create with our intuition.
With each passing day our confidence, authentically reblooming.
With every floral piece arranged, the more they organically reflected who we are, and our stories. Each one distinctly ours, and yet collectively coming together.

Because what joy it is to work with flowers, but even more so to do it alongside others and then share it with the world✨

Sharing some reflections about our floral lessons during @chelseafussflowers retreat on Substack...

There is a certain kind of quiet when August begin There is a certain kind of quiet when August begins its end. Unlike any other stillness experienced throughout the year, it’s a distinct calmness that reminds us of summer’s final phase, how soon, it will all begin to change. It’s a quiet noticed slowly in the subtleties of life, when we pause long enough to admire it. And we bask in it because of how incredibly fleeting it is…

Fully summering because there are cosmos, zinnias, marigolds and cutleaf coneflowers still blooming🌼☀️🌸

Posy...a small bunch of simple, sweet-smelling flowers, sometimes large enough to fit in a jar or as small as fitting a pin on a jacket.

Posies became popular during the Victorian era, where they cleverly used the language of flowers to discreetly convey their not-so-secret messages. Every flower and their placement in a posy had a specific meaning.
