Bourbon Ice Cream w. Maple Roasted Apples

Every Fall I make a signature seasonal ice cream flavor. Last year it involved Caramel Apples and Cheesecake, and the year before that, Chocolate Pumpkin Chai. The weather was just perfect here in New Jersey last week, perfect for apple picking! And it’s exactly what J and I did Saturday afternoon, so of course apples were again the inspiration…

Butternut Squash, Sweet Potato + Carrot Fall Soup {Sopa da Avo}

The first time I made this soup a few weeks ago, I instantly tasted her. I know weird, but I was reminded of my grandmother, her cooking, and my love for her. Growing up, whenever I was in Portugal there wasn’t a day that our house didn’t have soup. If there wasn’t, either we had been…

Favorite Fall Dishes

Was it just me, or did the second Halloween was over, stores filled up with Christmas decor and commercials sang about the season’s best gifts. It’s like the holidays have gotten into overhaul, and there isn’t much time to take in the change of the holiday. The holidays are a great season, but it is also a…

Spiced Butternut Squash & Apple Soup

October 16, 2013 · 8 Comments

It just isn’t Fall without a good comforting bowl of soup, especially when it’s made with one of the season’s staple vegetable, butternut squash. I haven’t been feeling my best lately and was waiting for things to calm a bit at work to start the 28 Day Mind and Body Challenge once more. I just…

This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chriss This Soba Tom Yum Noodle dish, inspired by @chrissyteigen recipe wouldn’t be considered traditional but it does celebrate the beautiful Thai flavors I love. I’ll take all the spice & lemongrass please🍜😋!! It’s certainly become a staple of mine, one I’ve recreated several times & I highly recommend you save in your back pocket because it will leave you craving more...& more!!

I used to post lots of recipes on the blog ‘til weddings/events/design took center stage & hoping to do so more again. Get this recipe on the blog now!
I read something yesterday, that made me instantly I read something yesterday, that made me instantly stop & reflect..."Some people think that having Hope makes you naive, but in my mind, it's so much harder to choose Hope over being angry or frustrated..." As someone who considers herself quite a hopeful person, I've had this on my mind since. Let's not confuse Hope w. toxic positivity {in which negative feelings or hardships are pushed aside}, when there is Hope, we still acknowledge our worries, the drawbacks of life, the sadness but still know that there is good.

We've all been doing our best nearing a year into this pandemic; the lives lost, families broken, the uncertain long-term issues, jobs, livelihoods disrupted & most recently too many people to count, struggling after a natural disaster. My heart breaks & is w. all of you, but despite the darkness, what I've also seen during these trying times...is Hope & Love. Communities & strangers coming together to help one another however way they can, even when they too are struggling to get by. That right there, is Hope. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle w. those around you. We’re all doing the best we can🤍
