Salted Caramel Walnut Tarte Tatin || Dreamery Events

It turns out, that while I love pie and everything about making it, many find making a pie from scratch with homemade pie dough, filling and assembling like a daunting task they couldn’t do. I say the hardest part is probably in achieving a flaky pie crust, but be kind to yourself and slowly get…

d’Anjou Pear + Marmelade Tart

d'Anjou Pear + Marmelade Tart

I confess, I much prefer a pear tart over any form of a pear pie. The thinly baked slices of honey like pear, often layered atop a thing layer of the seasonal jam of choice, the mid autumn, well into winter, it’s Marmalade. I quite like Quince marmalade, particularly when it’s homemade, and even better…

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Blend

October 9, 2017 · 8 Comments

Fall is definitely here for good, and I’m only saying it because I gave in and actually decorated with some pumpkins. Naturally they’re all the prettiest mini white ones or lovely gray hues, but they’re still pumpkins, and the extent of what I’ll decorate for fall. I’ve been slow to get into the Autumn mood,…

Delicate and silky fig preserves blend with richly comforting brown sugar for a late summer, and early fall, ice cream bliss… When figs are around it’s as if we’re experiencing a rarity like Halley’s Comet. Salted Ale Caramel Apple Pie

It’s been pretty busy around these parts. I feel like the holidays usually are, but they’ve been even more so for me this year. Between starting to work on a few handmade holiday gifts, actually shopping for others, finalizing decor for a winter wonderland party, and baking lots of cookie for gifts boxes, oh and…

Pumpkin Cheesecake with Gingerbread Cookie Crust

I finally hit my seasonal pumpkin kick. Who isn’t right? Pumpkin recipes are everywhere, some may want a break from it, but this is the season to really enjoy the freshest pumpkin flavors, and I’m definitely enjoying them right now. Lately I’ve been in a cheesecake baking mood, maybe it’s because I haven’t made in quite some time,…

Bourbon Ice Cream w. Maple Roasted Apples

October 15, 2015 · 1 Comment

Every Fall I make a signature seasonal ice cream flavor. Last year it involved Caramel Apples and Cheesecake, and the year before that, Chocolate Pumpkin Chai. The weather was just perfect here in New Jersey last week, perfect for apple picking! And it’s exactly what J and I did Saturday afternoon, so of course apples were again the inspiration…

Seven days immersing ourselves in flowers🌿🌼 Conne Seven days immersing ourselves in flowers🌿🌼
Connecting in nature, amongst foraged magic all around a quiet Portuguese village. It could not have been more idyllic.
We learned, we experimented and were encouraged to create with our intuition.
With each passing day our confidence, authentically reblooming.
With every floral piece arranged, the more they organically reflected who we are, and our stories. Each one distinctly ours, and yet collectively coming together.

Because what joy it is to work with flowers, but even more so to do it alongside others and then share it with the world✨

Sharing some reflections about our floral lessons during @chelseafussflowers retreat on Substack...

There is a certain kind of quiet when August begin There is a certain kind of quiet when August begins its end. Unlike any other stillness experienced throughout the year, it’s a distinct calmness that reminds us of summer’s final phase, how soon, it will all begin to change. It’s a quiet noticed slowly in the subtleties of life, when we pause long enough to admire it. And we bask in it because of how incredibly fleeting it is…

Fully summering because there are cosmos, zinnias, marigolds and cutleaf coneflowers still blooming🌼☀️🌸

Posy...a small bunch of simple, sweet-smelling flowers, sometimes large enough to fit in a jar or as small as fitting a pin on a jacket.

Posies became popular during the Victorian era, where they cleverly used the language of flowers to discreetly convey their not-so-secret messages. Every flower and their placement in a posy had a specific meaning.
