Sweet n’ Salty Cookie Crunch Ice Cream

May 12, 2014 · 1 Comment

To be honest, I think it took me longer to come up with a name for this ice cream than to actually make it. It’s more than just cookies n’ cream, or chocolate chip, or cookie nut pretzel crunch. It’s the ultimate snack time ice cream, but how does one give it a name without sounding…

Whole Wheat Lemon + Sage Honey Olive Oil Cake

April 22, 2014 · 8 Comments

Whole Wheat Lemon and Sage Honey Cake

As Spring continues to warm and brighten our days, it calls for easy, earthy and light flavors that highlight the bountiful freshness the season brings. A crunchy, yet gooey like bottom and top crust, gives a good bite to this extremely moist cake. Fluffy yet dense, and rich in velvety sweetness from honey, which balances perfectly with the earthiness from sage. Not to mention a Spring-like freshness…

Irish Soda Bread Recipe for Rolls or Loaves || Dreamery

Sunday afternoons in mid-March, the sunny ones with a warm glow and that slight chilly breeze — those afternoons call for baking. And because it’s almost St. Patrick’s Day, I thought it’d be nice to revisit a classic recipe I haven’t made since my earlier blogging days, several years ago … Soda Bread! It sounded…

Spelt Waffles

February 27, 2014 · 16 Comments

I believe in quiet mornings and I believe in breakfast. And I mean serious breakfast, as in I enjoy a hearty but light meal, preferably sweet. Preferably the perfect blend of all my favorite flavors and nutritious ingredients for a well-balanced meal, that starts any day with happiness. Waffles are probably one of my favorite…

Rustic Stuffed Bread

Rustic Stuffed Bread

The dreary snow, has us seeking warmth and comfort indoors. Comforting smells that take me back to our tiny town in Portugal, where cloudy brisk days meant the smell of cracking wood ovens, and freshly baked bread. Traditionally, we save enough dough to make a few stuffed loaves, either with chorizo and presunto, codfish and onions,…

With so much delicious curd and some pate brisee still begging to be used, I couldn’t help but spend a snowy afternoon making hand pies, shaped in lovely hearts of course. These little pies are extremely versatile, they’re portable, satisfy all guests at potlucks or easy-going cocktail parties, or cold days when you just want…

Seven days immersing ourselves in flowers🌿🌼 Conne Seven days immersing ourselves in flowers🌿🌼
Connecting in nature, amongst foraged magic all around a quiet Portuguese village. It could not have been more idyllic.
We learned, we experimented and were encouraged to create with our intuition.
With each passing day our confidence, authentically reblooming.
With every floral piece arranged, the more they organically reflected who we are, and our stories. Each one distinctly ours, and yet collectively coming together.

Because what joy it is to work with flowers, but even more so to do it alongside others and then share it with the world✨

Sharing some reflections about our floral lessons during @chelseafussflowers retreat on Substack...

There is a certain kind of quiet when August begin There is a certain kind of quiet when August begins its end. Unlike any other stillness experienced throughout the year, it’s a distinct calmness that reminds us of summer’s final phase, how soon, it will all begin to change. It’s a quiet noticed slowly in the subtleties of life, when we pause long enough to admire it. And we bask in it because of how incredibly fleeting it is…

Fully summering because there are cosmos, zinnias, marigolds and cutleaf coneflowers still blooming🌼☀️🌸

Posy...a small bunch of simple, sweet-smelling flowers, sometimes large enough to fit in a jar or as small as fitting a pin on a jacket.

Posies became popular during the Victorian era, where they cleverly used the language of flowers to discreetly convey their not-so-secret messages. Every flower and their placement in a posy had a specific meaning.
